Being in CTE Engineering my peers and I took part in ILPs each year. So far I’ve had an ILP at JMT a civil engineering firm where I learned things ranging from learning the importance of structure, design, and the management of projects and how they affect the environment as well as public safety. On the first day of my internship there, I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the people mentoring me and the group I was apart of were, I think because they work for such an important firm we sometimes forget that they’re human too. I kept in mind to come ready to learn something new because I  every meeting was built off of what was discussed in the previous meeting and plus every month there’s always a new topic, so I had to remember the things that we had previously discussed. I found great joy in being there and being there with people were very passionate about their job it was a very positive place. At the end of my time there the project was a presentation that took place at Drexel and I remember having to seriously prep for it.

The following year I had an ILP at Audubon, an environmental organization. Where I took part in nature walks and began to create nesting homes with the hope of bringing in more of a two species of birds. Sadly before I could really start the process of designing and constructing we were hit with the pandemic. I was aiming for a nesting home that had material safe for the animal and the environment as well as something the could last and withstand nature.
